It’s no longer necessary to apply for a Medway Dog Park tag in order to use the park with your pup. However, all other rules still apply – read about park rules and etiquette here.
You and your dog are welcome to come and enjoy yourselves in a safe and fun environment. While you’re visiting, take a look around – everyone is expected to clean up after their dogs, and we have lots of bags available for you to use. But sometimes people don’t see their dog doing his/her business, or can’t find it, or just forget to clean up. We can all help out by picking up. Do your good deed for the day and everyone will have a cleaner and more fun time at the park.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have questions, or if you’d like to help out at the park. We love to hear from you!
The Friends of the Medway Dog Park Board is in need of new members. Currently the Board is being run by only two active members; two other members have had to step down for personal reasons.
In order to keep our non-profit status, according to the park by-laws, we must fill the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Civic-minded individuals are needed now to fill the positions of Vice President and Secretary.
Some of the accomplishments of our past Boards are:
- built a shed to store seasonal tools, poop bags, and items for fund raising events
- developed and run the annual King Fido’s Faire fundraiser
- organized spring park clean ups, with fun giveaways to volunteers
- instituted membership cards with discounts at area businesses
- bought a new picnic table, tools, poop picker-uppers, bags, and toys
- designed a new dog park logo, and incorporated it onto merchandise.
(Items are available for purchase through our web site)
- built an informational web site
- compiled a mailing list of members
- sent newsletters to our membership
- recruited a tree service which supplies the park with fresh wood chips (currently someone is needed who would be willing to be the contact for the service)
The continuation of these types of tasks, as well as new ideas that you may bring to our park as well, are not time-intensive, but do mean a great deal to our park friends. A lot has been put in place – now we need new board members to keep the ball rolling. We hope you will consider serving.
If you have any questions about the positions or the tasks they fulfill, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
***ATTN DOG PARK PATRONS:***
Effective immediately there is no longer tags or permits being issued for the dog park. People can go without them.
ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS OTHER THAN THAT ARE STILL GOING TO BE ENFORCED.

The Friends of Medway Dog park have organized a park cleanup event for Saturday, September 13th, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. sharp! Trees will be trimmed, weeds will be pulled, and most importantly poop will be picked up! We’re prepping to get the park ready for this year’s King Fido’s Faire (stay tuned for details…) and need YOUR HELP.
The park cleanup is sponsored by Earth Rated poop bags, and those who show up early will get a special gift just for helping out! We also need assistance from people with gas-powered landscaping equipment (think: lawnmowers, weed whackers, etc.) so we can trim back some of the overgrowth from the summer. Remember, the more people that show up, the faster the work goes by! Every person makes a difference and we all need to chip in to make the park great!
